The Rulsies
I’m going to make this quick, okay? No one really likes reading through a long set of rules, which I understand completely. However, rules are very important, so I advise you to read them over carefully, yes? If need be, read them over more than once. If something doesn’t make sense to you, don’t hesitate to ask, either on the Chat-Box, or PM Matt or me. We’ll get back to your question as soon as possible~ most sites, if you do not abide by these rules, we will not give you three warnings, only two. If you continue to do whatever you’re doing, then you’ll be banned. There are no exceptions to this rule. Keep that in mind.
- Unlike
[/li][li]Respect is vital to any site, as well as life. Now, without being philosophical or anything, I don’t want to see anyone bashing anyone for religion, race, sex, age, orientation... whatever. If you have a problem with any of these things, don’t take it to the Chat-Box, don’t take it to the admins, and certainly don’t take it to PMs to the person, if any, that you have issue with. The first letter to the secret phrase is ‘s’. If anyone receives a harmful PM such as this, please alert the Admins. Seriously. It’s not cool.
[/li][li]This is a Beginner to Advanced role-playing site. We encourage people to interact together, no matter what their level is, so beginners don’t have to role-play only with other beginners, advanced only with other advanced, and so on and so forth. Et cetera and all that jazz. However, we are a literate site. So, please, please, use spell-check. If your computer doesn’t offer spell-check, then the post box will. If spell-check has no idea what you’re trying to say, then try to type it in google and see what you come up with. The second letter is ‘a’. You’d be surprised how well that works. Also, please try to be very good with grammar. It’s our friend, really. It’s just mean sometimes. Also, in a post, please speak in quotation marks... You know.. “ ”<-- those things. It makes things a lot more neat and tidy and appealing and pretty and stuff~ The minimum word count in a post (in-character) is 300. No less, please. It enables the less-experienced members to aim high. If you want to write more, do so. Duh~
[/li][li]Mary-sues. No one likes them. They’re annoying. Personally, I despise them. Now, if you’re unfamiliar with this term, it’s basically the ‘perfect’ character. Generally a female, she’s good at everything, with simple flaws such as clumsiness or simply being too kind or trusting. She’s generally bomb-shell gorgeous and has the attention of everyone--boys love her, girls are jealous of her, and teachers bend to her every whim off of those naturally glossed red-lips of hers. Blah, blah, blah. Don’t do it. Not everyone is good at everything, not everyone can learn difficult things at an extremely fast rate, and certainly, not everyone is drop-dead gorgeous. Now, I know that we’re using Celebrities as face-claims, but even some celebrities are pretty simple. Don’t anyone get me wrong, though. This term can apply to males as well.
[/li][li]God-moding! Don’t do it. It’s a big, big no-no. It pisses people off, including me, so please. Refrain. Don’t know what God-moding is? It’s simple. It’s when you take control of another person’s character without their expressed consent. For instance, if you have your character Sue punch someone else’s character in the jaw, then fine. You punched them. You, however, have no say in whether or not it dislocated his jaw. The third letter is ‘n’. Please, if you have any concerns or questions about this, ask away.
[/li][li]Drama. Everyone loves drama. And, well, face it, in a place like this, you won’t exactly be drama-free. No girl is going to get pregnant ten times in the span of three years. It’s impossible. Each pregnancy must last nine months, give or take a couple of days, unless you have permission to have complications--a premature labor, etc. The fourth letter is ‘s’. Please, plot the pregnancy thoroughly before you ask permission to do it in the first place, which, yes, you have to do. Remember, as well, that pregnancy means you’re going to get fat with baby, your hormones will be raging, and you’ll probably have a lot of aches and pains. We ask that you do not thread any sexy-times. No, this does not mean you can't make out or grope on each other. Yes, this does mean that you cannot take your clothes off and do naughty things. This does not necessarily just mean intercourse. I hope you know what I mean. If not, contact Matty or me over PM or MSN.
The thing I believe we'll have the most issues with is violence. Yes, violence is allowed, but not as much as we've been allowing. If you have issue with this, take it up with proboards. Every proboards site must be PG13. You cannot carve someone's face into a scary pumpkin-Joker. You cannot rape someone (mostly because, well, that's also sex). You cannot kill someone, or take your own life.. Well, character's life. At least, not on PM, threads, or IC-box. If you feel the incessant need to do more-than-average damage and only mention it on the board, keep it to MSN. No juicy details. That's just grossy~<3 The fifth letter is ‘p’. Also, suicide is allowed, but off the board. Meaning, it's more so just deleting the character than being all dramatic and having them go all emo in the IC corner, and explaining in horrific detail, the grossies and sadness. It makes people depressed, and No one wants to be depressed :C If you want to delete a character without them offing themselves, we can certainly work something out. Given, it's easier to delete a staff member than a student, but prisoners are transferred all the time.
[/li][li]After furthering the fact that this site is, indeed, rated M, I implore (hurr, fancy word) you to only join if you’re at least thirteen. We realize that twelve year olds might have the want to roleplay some twisted, dirty sex scenario as well, but no, sorry. The sixth letter is ‘r’. Thirteen and over only. We take this seriously, guys. So, please. Don’t lie. It’s annoying, and bad, and does not earn you cupcakes, and it especially does not land you cool points with the Admins.
[/li][li]Graphics~! Graphics are wonderful things, and tend to be very beautiful and shiny and such and such. So, please, don’t muck them with nudity, or gore. It’s not pretty or shiny. It’s gross. Yes, you can roleplay nudity and gore. This doesn’t mean people want to see it on actual pictures every time they scroll down the page. The seventh letter is ‘o’. Now, the smallest amount of blood is bearable. A man without his shirt on is okay. A woman is not. This is not sexist in the least. The woman simply has boobies, and men do not. They have pecks~ The maximum size for an icon is 120 in width, 300 in height, and the minimum is 100 by 100. The eighth letter is ‘n’. Signatures can be, at the most, a width of 500 pixels, and a height of 300 pixels. I would do the _x_ thing, but I can’t remember which goes first, and usually other people can’t either, thus, the longer amount of words.
[/li][li]NEW: On account of a disagreement, the admins ask that you not have try to plot out something in the ICBox, unless you intend on accepting any interruption from another character. What do I mean? Like, say, a fight, or a meeting. Say you want it between Bob and Sue, but Laura is in the ICBox as well. Bob and Sue start fighting, as the owners have plotted beforehand, and Laura interrupts them. The players playing Bob and Sue can either ignore her entirely, which is usually difficult, or accept her as part of the plot as well. If you don't intend to do the latter, please. Make a thread. If you haven't been accepted yet, to make a plot, then refrain from doing it in the ICBox anyway. Ignoring people, whether you mean to or not, comes across as a little rude.. So, yes.. keep your plotted things to Threads, please.[/li][/ul]
IMPORTANT
- Character limits.
If you advertise on one hundred sites, even, then you can have an unlimited amount of characters--but please, take no more than you can handle. We don't want dust bunny characters lyin' around.
This rule may vary. Keep checking to make sure. We'll try to announce it in the CBox if it does, though =)
[/li][li]Oh, and, of course, the most epic rule of all.. HAVE FUN~!
[/li][/ul]
If you’ve been reading carefully, then you’ll notice that I put random letters in there... Put them together and you have the secret code that you need for your application to be accepted. This code will be edited out when the application is accepted, so don’t get cute and look it up. It’s not cool. That being said, please don’t put it in a WIP application. Save it, and put it in when your application is completed, just in case someone wants to cheat =P[/blockquote]
