He was freezing to death out here, but it would all be worth it later. He had no choice. He needed to leave and go back to Virginia. Something bad was going to happen, and he needed to be there. Something was nagging him, in the back of his mind. Was his mom alright? Was it something with his sisters? He needed to make sure. So, here he was, freezing his ass off in the snowy tundra of Alaska. He didn't know if 8 hours of light would be enough to get him to the town. But he was already forming a plan in his mind. He'd fixed his hair, he'd been working on a British accent for weeks. He was good to go. He'd be a sweet, innocent British kid who'd gotten lost on his family Holiday. Tell them he'd gotten on the wrong fishing boat, and they would take him back to Washington.
They he would take a bus route to Virginia. Oh it was a tiring process, but he had to do something. That dream...it had been so real...he shivered again and ran harder. The snow was slowing him down, but it was alright. The best part was that snow was beginning to fall again, and it would cover up the marks. He would be gone before they even realized it. Unless they knew already...if that was the case then he needed to move quicker.
He panted softly, reaching the top of the hill and looking down it. In the distance, faint outlines of buildings he didn't know greeted him. He was surprised he made it this far. He stroked the fuzzy ear inside his coat pocket of his kitten Sylvester...they were almost free. He pulled the animal out and held him close. He would walk the rest of the way...that was it. He was tired.
