The door to the English room was closed, though it didn't quite look like an English room. The few chairs were pushed away and even the desk. The office seemed so much bigger now, much more spacious. The space was being used well of course, by the two small children that were wandering around. Leaning back in his chair, the English teacher watched his two children scurry around the room. His thin grey shirt rested loosely around his figure, his thin arms resting hi his lap. They were really quite thin, in a concerning way for a man of Kohaku's age, but the man never payed mind. he brushed off questions and tried to avoid talks about it. The man's mind was not on his figure or clothes though -- despite the rather off setting in his Alaskan weather. Then again, his rather long hair, tied back loosely, was off putting for his image of a male and a teacher. Only the black rimmed glassed fit the teacher image. Not, his attention was focused on the small children before him.
Before him, Tori was grinning boldy, in that sunshine way that perfectly reflected her mother. The small girl's hair hair was brushed well, something Kohaku was proud of being able to do. Usually the little girl fussed so hard. Just with hair though, the tiny girl had no issue with the attractive small dress on her. The soft white cloth with it's dull yellow waistband and trimming looked well, it suited the little girl's cheerful face. Her hands often went down to happily pat the rather fluffed up skirt, giggling ebfore running after Mink, her brother. He looked so much more simple, with his camo pants and dark green and a gray hoodie. His blonde hair was tousled, a big grin on his face as he held a small ball against his chest. The pair were playing with the ball, bouncing it to each other.
Kohaku was happy to have gotten this chance, to have the children in his office. It was not often that the man had time to blow off like this, but at this moment he was lucky. His classes had finally ended -- that meant the man was going to have more time for this; for merely being able to share more smiles with his small children. His attention was brought more so to the children when he felt a tug at his leg and glanced down once more. Tori had slipped away from the ball game and pulled herself into the man's lap. She plopped herself there, smiling proudly for having done such herself. Kohaku merely gave a weak smile, slowly petting the child's hair while he leaned on his fist, watching his son. The boy, with his playmate having called time out, he took a seat on the floor, bouncing the ball by himself. Kohaku wanted to give the children more then this however.
He wanted to give them a place to place, a real place. He wanted to take them to town, let them play around the grounds and whatnot. He could not though, due to the weather and the job of the school. He wanted to give them a better home, a house, not an apartment. He also wanted to give them a mother, one who was gentle, devoted and loving. He wanted to give them a better fa- a real father. One that wasn't..him. That option was given to him once of course, Ayame, his sister-in-law's words lingered. When she tried to talk him into giving Mink to her, sometimes he wonders why he didn't. She had a kind husband and she was an amazing mother. He himself.. was not. Ayame made it more painfully clear, reminding him that he was rather a failer of a man and not fit to be a father. Kohaku was not able to give his child to that woman however, because she would not have even allowed him to visit, well the deal was he could, but would have to say he was an uncle. Aya had told him that she didn't want Mink to know what a disgrace his father was.
Ko had refused though, and now he had two children. Taiyo's beautiful daughter.. Both her and Ayame were passed away now. The thought almost made him wince. Ayame would kill him if she knew the situation, probably hate him even. Thinking he was good enough to take in two, when he was not good enough to have one child of her sisters.. The man suddenly sighed, nuzzling his face against the little's girl's hair. He earned a giggle in response, tiny arms trying to wrap around his neck with a laugh of 'hug!' and he couldn't help but let his own smile grow a bit. He didn't want to think about ayame, or his fellow co=workers who called him the words so easily tied to 'failure'. He just wanted to hug Tori, his..daughter. Yes, she was now his daughter.. it would take itme ot get use to, it really would. Mink was already calling her sister however, and Tori was little, she was easy to follow Mink in calling Kohaku 'daddy'. A groan, soft, escaped him as he hugged Tori close, just petting her hair. He would make them something nice when they got home.. cooking would ease his mind. Maybe some work or something..
