YOU CAN FEEL THE POUNDING WRAPPED AROUND YOUR CHEST

[/font][/blockquote][/blockquote]The young Marine kept quiet as he ran around the track, it not being quite warm enough for him to run outside yet. The drill sergeants would of course have had his ass if they heard him think that, but after the hells he'd been through, he didn't care what they had to say. It was enough he was even working out, but running helped clear his mind. It always helped him focus and after Edward had left, he had to step up and take over. Thankfully it was from someone he knew, so it was an easy transition.
Noah ran a hand over his forehead, wiping the sweat out of his eyes as he rounded the track again, managing to strip his shirt off and land it perfectly next to his water bottle before starting again. There was no one around to see the scar that bisected him, despite it being half covered by the tattoo on his left side. Picking up the pace, he began pushing himself, listening to his breathing and the sound of his feet hitting the ground as he ran laps.
He pushed himself to the point of pain and then kept going, picking it up again as he ran, pushing himself to the point of seeing spots in his vision before he slowed down to cool down, picking up the water bottle before finally stopping, stretching his legs out. It felt good to run, and be up in the early silence in the dimly lit gym. He hadn't bothered to turn all the lights on, since no one was ever really up this early besides the other guards, it was good enough that he had some quiet.
The normally cheery Marine had a rather somber face on him at the moment, with no one around, he let the mask slip and actually thought about his past and the things he'd done before grunting and pushing himself up off the ground and heading over to a hanging bar, easily flipping over and hooking his legs, hanging upside down. He crossed his arms over his chest easily and curled his body upwards, doing suspended sit ups before he thought too much, preferring the feel of his muscles working against each other.
The silence at the moment was preferable, but in places like this, it was never long before someone else interrupted him, so he did as much as he could, keeping his shirt nearby. So far he'd managed to keep everyone, including his roommate, from seeing the nasty scar and a constant reminder of his past, but he didn't hold out on it for long and dreaded the questions surrounding it. It was bad enough the scar occupied most of his thoughts on a daily basis and the reason he never did anything that required him being shirtless or naked anymore, outside of hanging with the select few who knew what it was.
Annoyed with himself, he growled under his breath and dropped down to his feet again, breathing labored and paused, letting it go before checking his pulse. He did have to be careful, after all, as his heart was in the wrong place quite literally and as he got older he knew that pushing too hard would cause problems. Shrugging it off, he just sighed and pulled the shirt back on, or letting it drape around his neck for the time being.
